recap: tracy reese trunk show
The city of Detroit received a real treat on Saturday, June 17.
Tracy Reese - the same woman who dressed former first lady Michelle Obama on several occasions - came back home for a trunk show and meet-and-greet at the Détroit is the New Black showroom.
The Detroit-native graced our presence for several hours as attendees viewed the clothing.
Clothing from Reese's Plenty by Tracy Reese, Spring 2017, Resort 2017, and pre-Fall 2017 collections were available for purchase at the showroom.
The featured clothes came in a variety of colors, textures, prints and silhouettes.
From beautiful, richly-colored floral caftans, to structured denim rompers and top-and-culotte sets, everyone could tell the pieces were thoughtfully designed and created.
Reese's clothing is also very inclusive, offering a variety of sizes for women of all sizes and body types.
"Tracy Reese's collection symbolizes strong women," Jordan Moorhead, fashion blogger for Detroit fashion & lifestyle magazine, Haute Is... Magazine said.
"Women who aren't afraid to be front and center, who don't want to blend in but want to stand out in a crowd. I think they represent femininity but in both strong and soft ways. I personally love the structural elements of the clothing, and that it's emphasized so well in her collections."
Of course, attendees were able to chat with Reese and take photos with her. Reese's down-to-earth personality made the experience all the more enjoyable for everyone.
"My favorite part of the event was seeing how Tracy interacted with everyone," Moorhead said. "Someone as successful as she can be intimidating to go up to and talk to, but she seemed so comfortable and willing to speak to anyone who approached her. It was definitely refreshing to see. "
Until next time, Ms. Reese! DITNB looks forward to her next visit to the showroom and the city of Detroit.
The clothing is still available to purchase in our showroom.
